The Enemy

The enemy's name is Satan and he is the father of all lies.  Satan knows your weaknesses and will attempt to work on them by tempting you and attempting to bring you to sin.  Satan has already been defeated by the Blood of Jesus Christ.  He still reigns on this earth and has powers, so beware.  Read below for some steps that you can do to counter the enemy. Know your weaknesses.  Be real to yourself and know what you are prone to give in to.  When temptation comes turn to Jesus.   No temptation is greater than Jesus and he understands as he was tempted on this earth as well. Do not delay when dealing with temptation.   When tempted do not flirt with the tempter; reject it immediately and move on. Sin will not allow you to become the person you were designed to be.  Like the saying, "If you play with matches you are going to get burnt."  So too with temptation, if you entertain the tempter you will fall into sin.  Know that the devil is real.  Do not give in fight

Trials and tribulations

This world is filled with temptations, trials, and tribulations.  Do not discouraged by these as God will sustain you through the tough times. For these reasons one should not be enamoured by the enticings of this world. Prepare yourself and live for Jesus.
Neighbor Relationship Reflect In what ways am I empowering my neighbor?  In relation to my neighbor, am I living the life that Jesus Christ has laid out for me? In what ways am I falling short in my relations with my neighbor?  (i.e. name calling, gossip, etc) Think Jesus has set the example and stressed the importance of how we need to treat our neighbors.   Revised Standard Version (RSV) 29  Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30  and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' 31  The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." Pray Heavenly Father, you have sent your only son to light the way for the world.  Your Son has set the mark on the world and has laid out the model in which we are to follow.  I pray that I may treat my n

Prayer Process

1. Gratitude: Begin by thanking God in a personal dialogue for whatever you are most grateful for today. 2. Awareness: Revisit the times in the past 24 hours when you were and were not the best version of yourself.  Talk to God about the situations and what you learned from them. 3. Significant Moments: Identify something you experienced today and explore what God might be trying to say to you through that event or person. 4. Peace: Ask God to forgive you for any wrong you committed and to fill you with a deep abiding peace. 5. Freedom: Speak with God about how he is inviting you to change your life, so that you can experience the freedom to be the best version of your self. 6. Others: Lift up to God anyone you feel called to pray for today, asking God to bless and guide them. 7. Thank Jesus personally for dying on the cross for your sins and attempt to picture this sacrifice that he went through. 8. Finish with the Our Father Prayer. #7 is my addition 1-6, 8 are from M
Beware of worldly possessions and do not chase them.  Live for Jesus!
Reject worldliness; Do not participate in gossip.   Return to the solitude of prayer.  Come back to the Lord and give praise.
A wise man works to bridle his tongue and fears the Lord.  A wise man knows his limitations.  Heavenly father help me to know and overcome the limitations that are holding me back.  I pray this in the name of Jesus.
Do not put your faith in man, but God alone.  When I am tempted, help me to overcome.  When I fail Lord, help me to get back up.   I can do nothing without you.
God is on my side. I must not be concerned with others' thoughts/judgements.  A clear conscience will allow me to avoid the malice of others.  The evil will not harm me.  Attempt to be silent. I must know my faults and be humble.  Help me O' Lord Jesus!
