The Enemy

The enemy's name is Satan and he is the father of all lies.  Satan knows your weaknesses and will attempt to work on them by tempting you and attempting to bring you to sin.  Satan has already been defeated by the Blood of Jesus Christ.  He still reigns on this earth and has powers, so beware.  Read below for some steps that you can do to counter the enemy.


  1. Know your weaknesses.  Be real to yourself and know what you are prone to give in to. 
  2. When temptation comes turn to Jesus.  No temptation is greater than Jesus and he understands as he was tempted on this earth as well.
  3. Do not delay when dealing with temptation.  When tempted do not flirt with the tempter; reject it immediately and move on.
Sin will not allow you to become the person you were designed to be.  Like the saying, "If you play with matches you are going to get burnt."  So too with temptation, if you entertain the tempter you will fall into sin.  Know that the devil is real.  Do not give in fight; you are at war. 

Heavenly Father, you have the power to assist us in this battle with the devil.  Do not allow us to fall into his trap and allow us to overcome by living the lives that you want us to live.  You have a plan for us and I know that you will have it fulfilled.  Thanks for your love and mercy.  I pray this in the powerful name of Jesus.  Amen

Ch 80 Anger Thoughts How do I interact with individuals that are confrontational?   What do I say when someone else says something hurtful to me?  When I get angry what other items are going through my mind?  Is there something else bothering me or a root to the problem?  Am I blinded by my rage? One needs to be meek and should follow the prayer of meekness.  Do not let anger blind you to a higher way of thinking.  Do not act on animal instincts, but spiritual ones.
